Amaretti - Amarettini biscuit

Amaretti, well known in the Italian confectionary tradition, are crisp, airy biscuits made with bitter almonds. 

Their delicious smell and lingering taste make them a perfect snack or dessert, either alone or sandwiched together with a layer of cream or jam in the middle, served with dessert wines, coffee or milk. Whole, crumbled or crushed, they provide wonderful extra taste and texture to ice cream, yoghurt, mousses, chocolate etc.
