Quetsche plum

Quetsche is a variety of plum, such as mirabelle or queen-claude. Mainly grown in the Vosges, this small blue plum with orange flesh is sweet and slightly tart.

The quetsches season generally runs from late August to late September. There are two different ways to harvest them:

• manual fruit picking.
• mechanical picking (fruit for processing)

The quetsches can be eaten fresh in fruit of mouth, pie or jam.
